Background:
"At a time when the phrases "guitar hero" and "guitar god" were thrown about freely, Randall Closson was already an accomplished musician playing and teaching Saxophone and Clarinet at the ripe old age of 15. Then he discovered the beauty of the guitar, not by Clapton, Page and Hendrix, but at the "hands" of the Maestro Andres Segovia, through his master classes televised on educational TV, and the chord melody genius of jazz artists like George Van Eps and Bucky Pizzarelli. In the small town he grew up, there were no classical guitar teachers so Randall taught himself Classical and Jazz guitar. He later studied with Bruce Holzman at FSU who refined and corrected his technique. Though he has played in many venues and styles and still enjoys solo and ensemble playing, Randall has dedicated his life to teaching and imparting his love of music to others. He has taught at a college level, but his real love is private instruction, clinics and seminars. Many of his students have gone on to pursue careers in music and education. He is also a regular contributor to Just Jazz Guitar Magazine, writing reviews and product profiles."
"My Nova Futura has the rare combination of excellent tone, great sustain and unprecedented power. The basses are rich yet well defined. The trebles are clear and crisp. The entire range of the guitar is extremely well balanced and the tonal and dynamic variations allow me the opportunity to play very expressively and be heard."
