  • LoPrinzi Nova Futura

LoPrinzi player since:

What he has to say about his LoPrinzi:
"The Nova Futura has a number of advantages over any guitar I've ever tried, all of them having to do with how the instrument is heard both by the audience and by me as a performer. These would all be totally irrevelant, however, if it didn't also sound great; a perfect combination of clarity, volume and beauty of tone."

Background:
A former student of Rey de la Torre, Carlos Barbosa-Lima, and David Starobin, Dr. Robert Phillips has embraced a wide range of repertory preferences. His eclectic programming has excited audiences throughout the U.S., the Middle East and Canada. Robert has brought his brilliant interpretations to a diverse range of venues - from traditional concert halls to jazz nightclubs.

"Active as a performer, composer, and journalist, Robert Phillips is known for his bold, imaginative interpretations of the works of past masters, as well as for his dedictation to music of living composers. His repertoire includes the music of Bach, Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Villa-Lobos, Britten, Martin and many others, as well as Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Meyer Kupferman, Ned Rorem, Eberhard Weber, and Thelonius Monk. Robert has published numerous articles and "lessons" in magazines including Soundboard, Guitar, and Guitar Player. His solo guitar transcriptions for several works are available from Cherry Lane Music Publishing, and his book, "Great Themes and Variations for Classic Guitar" is published by Mel Bay Publications. He has released 2 CDs, "Guitarre Nouveau" and the 2 CD companion to his Mel Bay book. His new book, "Classics Illustrated" is soon to be released by Cherry Lane."
